Karma and Gyana (Action and Wisdom) are the two essentials in spirituality. Lord Krishna lays emphasis on the relevance of these tools through His explanation of Karma Yog and Bhakti Yog in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. However, a problem arises when people begin to prioritise one over the other. They often trap themselves in a dilemma about which of the two is superior, or which one to choose, and in what proportion? Though this choice seems extremely relevant for our spiritual progress, in reality, it is futile.

Episode#5 highlights the right way to utilise these spiritual tools available to all of us. Through the story of Brahmin Sutikshna and Muni Agastya written in Sh. Yogvaashishth Maharamayana, Sri Guru explains the significance of Karma and Gyaan in a seeker’s life.

Ramayan is one of the most influential ancient Hindu texts compiled by Maharishi Valmiki. Within it lies the Yogvaashishth Maharamayan — a scripture comprising more than 29,000 Shlokas chronicled as a dialogue between Guru Vashishth and Lord Ram. In moments of despondence, these teachings empowered Lord Ram with clarity on the fundamentals of spirituality from the perspective of Advaita Vedanta. This nurtured the seeds of Vairagya (dispassion) within Him. The compilation of Yogvaashishth Maharamayan consists of six sections (Prakaran), namely: वैराग्य प्रकरण (Vairagya Prakaran), मुमुक्षु व्यवहार प्रकरण (Mumukshu Vyavhaar Prakaran), उत्पत्ति प्रकरण (Utpatti Prakaran), स्थिति प्रकरण (Sthiti Prakaran), उपशम प्रकरण (Upsham Prakaran) and निर्वाण प्रकरण (Nirvana Prakaran).

Through this Satsang series, Sri Guru uncovers the text that acted as the foundation in the making of Lord Ram, and henceforth, takes several seekers on the journey of unveiling the Ram within..!
