We all have closely followed the 22 drivers that participated in the 2022 F1 season - and now that the season is over, we decided to rank the 20 full-time drivers from worst to best. It is an interesting take on the ranking as all three of us support different team and drivers in the championship and we tried our best to keep this raking unbiased.

This ranking is not simply about ordering the best drivers based on their overall ability, but specifically analyzing their performance levels relative to their available machinery over the course of the full 2022 F1 season.

*Substitutes Nico Hulkenberg and Nyck de Vries are specifically excluded, because the fact they only did a handful of races between them makes comparison to the rest of the grid unfair*

We at Unofficial Stewards examined the details of every other driver's 2022 campaign as far as we remember to come up with a definitive order, taking into consideration various factors - such as overall pace in qualifying and the races, consistency, rate of mistakes, how each progressed through the year, how they fared against their respective team-mates, and many more.
