The Way to complete Restoration 01 | Who is God? (Arabic)
Text: Genesis 1:1-31
1) First Section. Good, gracious God.
• God created the world for blessing (Genesis Chapter 1)
o First day: Creation of light
Genesis 1:3-4
“3. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.
4. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.”
o Second day: Creation of heaven and earth (separation of water)
Genesis 1:10
“God called the dry ground ‘land,’ and the gathered water he called ‘seas.’ And God saw that it was good.”
o Third day: Creation of grass, vegetables and fruit trees
Genesis 1:12
“The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”
o Fourth day: Creation of moon and stars.
Genesis 1:18
“To govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.”
o Fifth day: Creation of animals, birds and fish.
Genesis 1:25
“God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”
o Sixth day: Creation of man.
Genesis 1:31
“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.”
o Goal of creation – to rule over creation
Genesis 1:27-28
“27. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
28. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’”
• God, who gives good things
Matthew 7:9-11
“9. Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10. Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11. If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
• God, who blesses in everything
3 John 2
“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
• God, who gives eternal heavens
Revelation 21:3-4
“3. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.’
4. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’”
• God, who gives life
John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
2) Second section. Why does the blessing of a good God doesn’t come?
• The enemy who destroys our lives is the devil.
John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
• Fear does not come from God, but from the devil.
Job 3:26
“I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.”
1 John 4:18
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
3) Third section. How can I experience a good God?
• You must have faith to experience God
Hebrews 11:6
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
• Faith – is the expectation of a good God
o It is like a gearbox for shifting gears.
o The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
o The second son had faith and expectation that his father would accept him.
o The first son didn’t have faith in the goodness of the father, he didn’t believe that the father prepared the best for him.
• You need to encounter a good God.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
“11. ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
12. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’”
4) Questions and discussion:
What kind of a God is God to you?
Why do you think that way about him?
