The Namibian Police Force Firearms Control Division in Windhoek is requesting members of the public who hand in their firearms to the Wanaheda Police station for safekeeping before 31 January 2018. Failure to do so will result in the firearm being confiscated and destroyed. Shikwambi urged the public to always be in possession of their firearm licenses as carrying a firearm without one is an offense. The following people are requested to contact warrant officer Angula at the Wanaheda Police Station. NAMPOL is also appealing to members of the public who applied for certificates of conduct to collect them. Last year in July, NAMPOL launched a system that accelerates the printing of the certificates. It only takes a week for the documents to be ready.
