The historic Odia drama ‘Ahe Nila Shaila’ created a deeply devotional atmosphere at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, going housefull on the very first day.
Based on the timeless Jagannath culture and inspired by Surendra Mohanty’s novel ‘Nilashaila’, the play beautifully portrayed the untold history of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, Mughal invasion, Anasara Ghara secrecy, and the sacrifice of Gajapati Maharaja Ramachandra Deva.

Powerful performances, soulful music, and captivating stage lighting left the audience emotional, with chants of “Jai Jagannath” echoing across the auditorium.
This 33rd show, directed by Lala Biren Ray and presented by Chocolate Productions, stands as a proud tribute to Odia heritage and devotion.
