Issues for security now are very very complex and we need a new strategies in how we are preventing stuff especially in the united states where we have so many targets.
The Mali attacks on the hotel with the hostages of one hundred and seventy taken and twenty two killed is a classic example of a poor routine being followed by the security.
There were three security guards at the front and they were caught at the change of shift at seven o'clock in the morning.

The bulk of them went to put their guns away getting ready to leave and left one person there by themselves who did not stop the car because he was by himself and the car had diplomatic plates.
Had there been a group there they would have instilled the routine to carry it out.
Instead they got into an informal routine of this is how we do it.
The day shift people are not going to get there as quickly or as alert.
The key to security is to pay attention and don't get into bad routines.
