Описание к видео Rainbow Still I'm Sad HQ

Track 9 from their self-titled debut album "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" released in 1975 copyright Polydor Records. It was recorded at Giorgio Moroder's Musicland Studios in Munich, Germany and was produced by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, Deep Purple's engineer and producer Martin Birch and lead vocalist Ronnie James Dio. After leaving Deep Purple, Blackmore had begun recording two new songs for the A and B sides of a solo single in Tampa, Florida. He recruited musicians from the American band Elf as his backing band for the recording sessions. Elf had been discovered by Deep Purple's bassist Roger Glover and drummer Ian Paice and they produced the band's self-titled debut album released in 1972. This relationship led to Elf becoming the opening act for Deep Purple's tours for several years and Blackmore took notice. He admired the band and especially Ronnie James Dio's vocal abilities. Blackmore was so pleased with the results of the Tampa sessions that he decided to form a new band with the members of Elf and release a full-length album. Blackmore's love of classical music and instruments used during medieval times fit well with Dio's lyrics about that period in history and his stories of mythical creatures in a fantasy world. Despite the band being called Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow for name recognition, all the original songs on this album were co-written and arranged with Dio, who composed the lyrics after Blackmore brought him the music. Ronnie James Dio has also been credited as the person who first introduced the "Devil Horns" hand gesture, so commonly used nowadays as a salute and symbol of hard rock/heavy metal music. He's also considered one of the great vocalists in rock. Reviews for the album were mostly average although some British critics praised it for its lyrical content and innovative style at the time. It reached No. 83 in Canada, No. 55 in Australia, No. 40 in New Zealand, No. 30 in the U.S., No. 26 in Japan, No. 24 in Sweden and No. 11 in the U.K. Written by Paul Samwell-Smith & Jim McCarty and produced by Ritchie Blackmore, Martin Birch & Ronnie James Dio. RIP Gary Driscoll, Ronnie James Dio, Martin Birch & Craig Gruber. Featuring:

Ritchie Blackmore - Lead & rhythm guitars
Mickey Lee Soule - Piano, Mellotron, Clavinet & organ
