I Wish You Would (live blues with harmonica from benefit concert - video vers)

Описание к видео I Wish You Would (live blues with harmonica from benefit concert - video vers)

This performance is from a 9/23/2016 benefit concert, showcasing UMass Lowell music faculty, to raise scholarship funds for our students. This show was part of the year-long series: the Chancellor’s Celebration of Music. Over a dozen faculty members, plus alumni and current students, participated in the evening... putting together an amazing event!

The lineup of this blues band was:

Ricky Berger - Guitar
Andy Fordyce - Drums
Chuck Garbriel - Bass
John Shirley - Harmonica and Vocals

It was great to have an opportunity to bring faculty together and experience their talents, as well as to get to know these three incredible guys a bit and play some blues together! I hope we can do it again in the near future!

Also, if you’re a harmonica player who’s thinking about college and might be interested in one of our undergraduate music majors, and possibly a piece of this scholarship money, please feel free to reach out to me for more information and to discuss options at: [email protected]

“I Wish You Would” is by Billy Boy Arnold. This interpretation was inspired by the numerous versions of Lester Butler.

Thanks to Wael Kamal and the students in Digital Media for the video footage of the show: Duffy Byrne, Kimberly Ferreira, Vathana Khoeun, Yasie Nejad, Chummeng Soun and Meaghan Talty.

Also, thanks to Sean Patterson, Jeremie Inhaler Courchesne and Bill Carman for recording the show, and to Richard Sleigh for the custom Marine Band harmonica I used here.
