Just north of Rome are the remnants of a once thriving culture. The Etruscans built towns, ports and roads, mined for iron ore and produced incredible works of art. However, very little remains of their temples and houses. Most of which we learn about them comes from their extensive burial grounds where beautiful frescos, ornate grave goods and inscriptions give us an insight into their daily life. In this video I talk about the two famous Etruscan Necropoli of Banditaccia and Tarquinia that make up a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the nearby towns and ports that they built.
