Want to maintain harmony between fabrication and paintshop? Check out our two-step process for finishing a weld seam to a standard suitable for handing over to an industrial paintshop.

Step 1: weld seam grinding using an 80+ grit POWER MAX-D 9.3 ceramic fibre disc
Step 2: smoothing using progressive grits of the SAITAC D-VEL Z-F/ZF-F zirconia hook and loop discs

Use of a fibre disc rather than a flap disc prevents undulation in the metal surface and avoids the need for corrective filler processes – a significant time and money saving. Hook and loop discs are used to progressively work out scratches to a level where they don’t pop through the finished paintwork, reducing part rejections.
