Описание к видео Acting Globally in an interconnected World | Jeffrey Franks | TEDxHSG

World economies are interconnected in many ways, and yet we still witness a rise in nationalist movements. How might we as individuals be affected by such a decision? In order to face issues increasingly global in nature, we must widen our gaze beyond local acts of good will. Jeffrey Franks is the Director of the IMF Office in Europe and the Senior Representative to the European Union. Boasting degrees from an impressive list of alma maters—Oxford, Harvard and Princeton—Jeffrey has been working at the International Monetary Fund for 25 years, including as resident representative in Ecuador and Ukraine, and mission chief for Belgium, France, Pakistan, Paraguay, and Romania. Such broad experience has allowed Jeff to gain an invaluable and unique perspective on how economic policy can impact the welfare of the individual and society as a whole. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
