The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre was a purpose built shopping centre opened in 1991, totalling approximately 15,130 sqm of accommodation arranged over five levels. The centre was home to over 15 big name stores in its peak which included Wilko, Argos, Peacocks, New Look and select were among some of the big names found there before it closed in December 2020 it also had a two storey library in the building as well other local shops and cafes in building taking its total shop number to 26 operating inside the centre
