Natural Remedies | Homemade Cough Syrup & Respiratory Salve

In today's video, I’m joined by my grandson, who is feeling under the weather with a runny nose, rosy cheeks, and a little diaper rash. Together, we make two simple and natural home remedies: a honey-based herbal cough syrup and a soothing respiratory salve, perfect for relieving congestion and coughs.
First, we prepare the cough syrup using raw honey as the base, which is great for soothing sore throats and easy for kids to take. I mix in essential oils—lemon, peppermint, and eucalyptus—to help with congestion and respiratory discomfort. This remedy can be taken four times a day and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
Next, we whip up a homemade respiratory salve, similar to Vicks VapoRub but healthier and made with natural ingredients. I combine coconut oil, beeswax, and shea butter with essential oils like eucalyptus, peppermint, and tea tree for a gentle yet effective rub that helps ease breathing. This salve can be stored for up to a year and is perfect for applying to the chest during cold and flu season.
