What’s Monte Gordo Beach like in July? Join us on a peaceful 1.5 km walk along the Monte Gordo boardwalk, filmed on an overcast summer day with the temperature sitting at 25°C — cooler than usual, but perfect for a relaxed beachfront stroll. ☁️🌊

We start at the western end of Monte Gordo Beach, where a unique local harbour is operated by tractors pulling fishing boats in and out of the sea — a rare sight in today’s Algarve. Just across the road, locals gather at a traditional Portuguese fish restaurant, known for its fresh seafood and laid-back vibe.

Our next stop is Snack Bar Rui’s, a classic hangout where fishermen unwind with glasses of wine for just €2. This spot is full of character and a great example of authentic Monte Gordo culture.

🍹 Monte Gordo Boardwalk Highlights:
From there, we begin the walk along the wooden boardwalk, lined with beach bars and restaurants. Some are quiet, others buzzing, a reflection of the weather and season.

Muxama Beach Bar – stylish and modern
Marsagado – currently closed, one of our personal favourites
Bar Dona Bela – casual beachfront hangout
Montaditos – busy and lively tapas restaurant
Cuica Sushi Bar – active despite the clouds
Baixa Sabores – crowded and popular with locals
Bar Cruzeiro – full of energy as we approach the eastern end

The further we walk, the busier the boardwalk becomes. Whether you're here for the views, the food, or just a calm escape from the Algarve’s bigger towns, Monte Gordo has something special to offer.

🏖️ Ending at Prime Beach Club:
We wrap up at Prime Beach Club, one of the most highly rated restaurants in Monte Gordo. The beachfront terrace serves incredible food and offers a €5 beach breakfast upgrade if you're staying at the Prime Beach Hotel just behind. It’s a brilliant spot to finish your evening or start your day.

This walk captures the calm before the storm — as July continues, Monte Gordo will get much livelier with incoming summer tourists and holidaymakers.
