Elson Moyo was a Zimbabwean air officer and military general who served as commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe since December 2017 and one of the main figures in the 2017 Zimbabwean coup d'état attempt.

Controversy
Moyo was arrested on 7 June 2007 along with Major General Engelbert Rugeje and around 400 other military personnel for allegedly plotting to overthrow the Mugabe administration.[7] It was later noted that Moyo was under 24-hour surveillance and had been removed from his public roles.[8] In 2015, Moyo was still in military service and reported to be the Chief of Staff for Joint Operation and Plans.[9]

Brigadier General Thomas Moyo - Major-General Thomas Moyo is the Head of Military Intelligence in Zimbabwe.


Brigadier General Fidelis Mhonda -
He was promoted from the rank of colonel to the rank of Brigadier-General in 2015 by Robert Mugabe.[1] He was the Commander 2 Infantry Brigade before his appointment as Presidential Guard Brigade commander replacing Anselem Sanyatwe who was retired by Emmerson Mnangagwa.[2]

Fidelis Mhonda officially took over as commander of the Presidential Guard Brigade on 27 May 2019 [3]

Brigadier General Paul Chima -
Paul Chima is a Major-General in the Zimbabwe National Army. He was promoted to the rank of Major-General on the 18th of December 2017.

Career
In December 2017, Paul Chima was promoted by Emmerson Mnangagwa from Brigadier-General to the rank of Major-General.[1]

In August 2021, Chima was moved from Chief of Staff administration staff at army headquarters to ZDF headquarters as Inspector General.[2]
