Notes from JohnStacy about this arrangement:
For a space album, Metroid is an obvious inclusion. Metroid has a certain tone to the games - underground, alone, in an unwelcoming alien environment. The Metroid Suite captures this, blended with the thrills and excitement of making your way through the caves and tunnels, fighting off the hostile creatures, and the victory of making it out alive. I took advantage of some unusual techniques to add to the atmosphere, such as timbral crossfading in post between different instruments, unpredictable rhythmic meter changes, and 12-tone textures to name a few. In keeping with another aspect of what makes Metroid games enjoyable, there are hidden easter eggs throughout this arrangement that can be found on subsequent listenings.
