Hobi Finally Addresses New Tattoos & Shares Plans For More Ink | BTS j-hope

BTS got matching "7" friendship tattoos in June 2022. The boys chose different fonts and areas of their bodies to put it on. 

Out of all the members, Hobi was the least I expected to get a tattoo on his own. I mean, he didn't even want to pierce his ears. Hobi is one of the very few male idols who doesn't have pierced ears. So Yoongi recognized his ear right away because of that detail.

After being quiet on social media for a while, Hobi finally posted a photo on his IG story on August 25. It was a nice, aesthetic, Hobi-coded snap. Nothing unusual until eagle-eyed ARMY noticed that his background was from tattoo artist Dr. Woo. Hobi's whereabouts were finally confirmed when Dr. Woo himself shared Hobi's photo on his IG story and tagged his tattoo shop's account.

There were two possible scenarios why Hobi was there. 1. He got a tattoo and 2. He accompanied someone. And while ARMY were still busy choosing between 1 and 2, Dr. Woo suddenly confirmed it was 1. At the time, we only knew about Hobi's "Hope" tattoo above his left knee. But then he uploaded a dance challenge supporting CORTIS, where he clearly had more ink on his other leg.

On September 7, Hobi went live on Weverse to say hello to ARMY while heading back home. It was his first livestream after that Dr. Woo visit and the CORTIS dance challenge. As expected, ARMY asked Hobi about his tattoo. Like I said earlier, Hobi is the least person I expected to get a tattoo aside from BTS's friendship tat. Hobi knew many had that same thought, but shared that it wasn't an impulsive decision. Let's not forget that Hobi is a solid J in his MBTI, meaning he does things in a very well-thought-out and organized manner.

That said, it is understandable that Hobi's new tattoos were planned a long time ago. In fact, Hobi's decision on where to put his tattoos and the words he chose were quite poetic. It seemed that Hobi may be open to adding more leg tattoos in the future. However, Hobi noted that there's a part of his body he will never put a tattoo on.

Hobi knew that not everyone is a fan of tattoos, but he stuck to his decision. Hobi even has an idea for his possible next tattoo. And just like his previous inks, this one is very meaningful as well. Of all the spots on his leg, Hobi chose his Achilles heel to put his parents' names on. This signifies that his parents are his vulnerable points.
