Approach, Landing, and Takeoff at Ranger Creek Airport (21W)

Описание к видео Approach, Landing, and Takeoff at Ranger Creek Airport (21W)

Narrated flight to, landing at, and departure from Washington State's highest elevation paved public use airport (I think). This airport is located in a canyon northeast of Mt. Rainier. This video shows an approach from the west to runway 15, and a departure to the west from runway 33. This is the easiest approach and departure pattern to make at Ranger Creek.

Departing runway 15 has closer obstacles, and requires either a tight canyon turn or a long traversal around the mountain. Arriving runway 33 likely requires a displaced approach and is subject to significant downdrafts over the White river.
