The goal of this tutorial is to provide instructions on writing your paper using the Microsoft Word Submission Template for ACM Papers. This is a single-column Word document that provides the styles that you’ll need to use in preparing your paper for the Proceedings.

More than likely, you’ve used a word processing application of your choice to submit your initial draft for review, and you’re now preparing your revised paper for final submission. It’s possible that you used the Submission Template for ACM Papers for your initial draft, but it’s not a requirement.

I’m going to provide step-by-step guidance for applying ACM styles to your paper for submission. I’m going to assume that you’ll be pasting your revised draft copy into the ACM Word template, and that you’ll be applying styles as you go.
