Hotel Suadiye is a good place to stay on the Asian side of Istanbul. From there you can visit Bagdat Street for all the high end shopping. It's a 10 minute walk to Bostanci pier where you can take a ferry to the Islands.

The princess islands, Bostanci Istanbul and the rest of the asian side can be seen.
