Today, to begin the week, I bring you a new EP from New Hampshire solo project Blood Dusk, This Is Forever.

This release is a rawer, more tortured and emotionally abrasive creation than debut EP Every Fix is Temporary, for good reason; as it is completed in the wake of the passing of the artist's father. A cathartic and pained experience to channel, and one I am feeling all too heavily myself at the moment, with the death of my own mother.

I appreciate the wilfully confrontational feel of this EP; contorting what should be dreamy ascending melodies into mangled wreckages of noise and dissonance, the rhythm playing through, momentum taking the track onwards while the melodies fight to survive through the noise.

yeah. that is how it is.
