While practicing social distancing during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, A friend of mine that lives in Boca Raton texted me that there was a "BIG GREEN MOTH" on his front porch. My response: "I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!!!" There's only one thing it could be.

This marks only the 7th Gaudy Sphinx I've ever seen in my 34 years of bug hunting in South Florida. Eumorpha labruscae is one species that I will never get tired of looking at. It is a large sphingid with wildly colorful wings!

The specimen was an immaculate male and was very docile, allowing us to pick it up and do a fantastic photography session with!!! We've got some great videos on this bug lined up for you!! Don't forget to "SUBSCRIBE" to our channel!!!
