BJP's new national president, Nitin Naveen, has started taking major decisions rapidly since assuming office. On his very first day as president, he assigned several important responsibilities related to the party organization and upcoming elections. Senior leader Vinod Tawde has been appointed as the election in-charge for the Kerala assembly elections, and he has also been given the responsibility of observer for the Chandigarh mayoral elections. Shobha Karandlaje has been appointed as the co-in-charge alongside him. Nitin Naveen's appointment as national president was formally announced on Tuesday, but it had become clear even earlier, when he was appointed working president, that the complete control of the party would now be in his hands.

बीजेपी के नए राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष नितिन नवीन ने पद संभालते ही तेज़ी से बड़े फैसले लेने शुरू कर दिए हैं। अध्यक्ष बनते ही पहले ही दिन उन्होंने पार्टी संगठन और आगामी चुनावों को लेकर कई अहम जिम्मेदारियां तय कर दीं। वरिष्ठ नेता विनोद तावड़े को केरल विधानसभा चुनाव का चुनाव प्रभारी बनाया गया है, जबकि चंडीगढ़ मेयर चुनाव के लिए उन्हें पर्यवेक्षक की जिम्मेदारी भी सौंपी गई है। उनके साथ शोभा करंदलाजे को सह प्रभारी नियुक्त किया गया है। मंगलवार को नितिन नवीन के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष बनने का औपचारिक ऐलान हुआ था, लेकिन इससे पहले ही जब उन्हें कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष बनाया गया था, तभी साफ हो गया था कि पार्टी की पूरी कमान अब उनके हाथों में होगी।
