That Ol' chord progressions again

Описание к видео That Ol' chord progressions again

This is another look at the chord progression using the chords "harmonised" from the notes of the major scale (I'm using C but it works for every other key).
NOTE: My pal Joel has remnided me to opint out thar the progression from A-D-G-C is a cycle of fourths. Joel knows music theory - I just picked it up as necessary!

So, the scale of C is ... C....D......E....F....G.....A....B..........C
or in numbering ...........I......II......III...IV...V.....VI...VII .......I
and in chords ...............C...Dm..Em..F...G7..Am..Bdim...C
Another Note: for melodic purposes, the minor chords may be changed to 7th major chords.
I thought that this progression had been developed in the '20s or so but my good friend Joel has advised me that it has been used by Bach, and Chopin.
Other variations have been used - Fm and even an E major etc., all for effect, and your ear will tell your when.

I hope this helps - your queries and comments are welcomed.
