How to Use a Dinghy/Tender Safely (For Beginners) | Tricky Buggers! | Boating Safety

In this video, I demonstrate how to effectively and safely use your boat dinghy/tender. They can definitely be tricky little buggers!
#1 IMPORTANT TIP: Never let your rope go from the boat until the engine has been successfully started. Sometimes the engines can be temperamental to start.
#2 IMPORTANT TIP: After boat engine has started and you untie your rope from the boat, make sure you tie the rope into dinghy so that it doesn't fall out and end up in your propeller.

When safely getting into dinghy (demonstrated in video), I suggest for you to also remove your shoes if they are NOT fastened on the back. My girlfriend always wore sandals in the dinghy, and for safety she removed her shoes to get in and out properly.

Boat maneuvering is relatively easy - hit the throttle and point your engine opposite to the desired direction of travel

It is best to use a round turn and two half hitches to secure your dinghy wherever you tie up.
