World Chess Championship takes centre stage in Singapore | ABS-CBN News

The opening ceremony of the World Chess Championship was held in Singapore on Saturday (November 23) as Ding Liren and Gukesh Dommaraju prepare to face off for the title.

Ding, the defending champion from China, is coming up against 18-year-old Indian teenager Gukesh, with the match the first in the competition's 136-year history to feature two contestants from Asia.

The first game is scheduled to start on Monday (November 25).
