Balaklava Blues презентує кліп на пісню LET ME OUT з однойменного альбому, реліз якого відбувся в жовтні 2022. Відео зняли взимку 2022 в Канаді на озері Маскока в провінціі Онтаріо, на унікальній тектонічній територіі, яку називають "канадський щит". Під час зйомок 50-ти метрова глибина озера промерзла на 30 сантиметрів, а температура повітря сягала мінус 20°C. Працювати в таких температурних режимах було непросто і людям, і техніці, але команда була готова на все заради мистецтва та ідеї.
У LET ME OUT разом з Марічкою та Марком Марчик знялися друзі-музиканти - Оскар Ламбаррі та Джаш Сінг. Зняв та змонтував відео давній друг гурту - канадський режисер та відеограф Педя Мілосавлевич.

Пісню створили Марко й Марічка Марчик, в аранжуванні LET ME OUT використана народна лірична пісня “Косарі косять” з Чернігівської області, у вільній інтерпретації Balaklava Blues.

Марічка Марчик:
"Коли для всього світу зима не на часі, в нас, українців всього світу, лютий який почався 24, лютуватиме допоки війна не закінчиться нашою перемогою.
Інколи нам здається, що ми гребемо у своїх човнах наодинці зі своїми страхами посеред промерзлого озера. Але варто озирнутися, аби побачити, що таких одинаків безліч, і ми зі своїми переживаннями не самі.
Найжахливіші страхи і травми не можуть керувати нашим життям.
Варто набратися сміливості подивитися їм в очі, аби вони зникли назавжди, міцно взяти в руки весло і впевнено гребти через сніги та морози до нашої перемоги.
Дивіться, сніги тануть. Дерева квітнуть. Вороги гинуть. А ми живемо далі."

Вийшло традиційно для Balaklava Blues сильно, болісно, до кісток пронизливо, мистецьки стильно та вражаюче.

Release PTSD-driven music video
Shot in Muskoka and animated in Ukraine 

As the final instalment in their intense and emotional series of black and white music videos accompanying their sophomore album LET ME OUT (November 2022), Ukrainian-Canadian hyper-folk-noir trio Balaklava Blues have released a radio edit of the title track on YouTube and other DSPs. 

The video meanders between live-action and animated dream states as its protagonist is carried deeper and deeper into the endless winter of post traumatic stress. It was shot on Ojibwe land on the Canadian Shield by Serbian-Canadian cinematographer Pedja Milosavljevic and animated in Ukraine by Dima Nechepurenko in extreme circumstance — Dima adapted his unique stop-motion style as a reaction to not being able to shoot outdoors and having limited electricity/light due to power lines being destroyed by air strikes.

Marichka Marczyk, Balaklava Blues:
“When winter is not on time for the whole world, for us, Ukrainians of the whole world, February, which began on the 24th, will rage until the war ends with our victory.
Sometimes we feel like we’re rowing our boats alone with our fears in the middle of a frozen lake. But it is worth looking around to see that there are many such lonely people, and we are not alone with our struggles.
The most terrifying fears and traumas cannot rule our lives.
It is worth gathering the courage to look them in the eyes so that they disappear forever, firmly take the oar in your hands and row confidently through the snow and frost into the new spring.The spring of our victory.Look, the snow is melting. The trees are blooming. Enemies will die. And we live on.”

It turned out traditionally for Balaklava Blues strong, painful, bone piercing, artistically stylish and impressive.

In addition to being self-proclaimed “fighters on the cultural front of the war for global democracy and freedom,” the power couple have spent time on the physical front in Ukraine and continue to raise money for soldiers like Marichka’s brother Max. They have helped to raise over a million dollars with their concerts and other creative endeavours, including making their wedding a public fundraiser for IFAK kits and printing high res metro tokens from Kyiv to raise money for refugees using subway stations as bomb shelters.
