Due to the very low capacity throughput rate of the Rocket Rods, the original Escalator entrance for the People Mover was removed. Despite having a largely expanded queue, the load rider per hour combined with the Rocket Rods' overall unreliable nature led to the wait times easily being over an hour long even on less busy days at Disneyland. Additionally, due to the People Mover tracks not being designed to handle large vehicles traveling at high speed, the rocket rod vehicles had to slow down considerably when approaching corners and apparently damaged parts of the People Mover track. The Rocket Rods is an attraction that is mostly looked down upon by most Disney Fans today due to its overall cheapness and reliability, however, there are a few in the community who look back at this attraction with fondness and nostalgia.
