1976 Rose Bowl

This is The 1/1/1976 Rose Bowl. Ohio State vs UCLA. I can think of 3 times in my lifetime when The Buckeyes Final game of the season seemed more like a coronation than a championship level game. 69 Michigan, 2006 Florida and this game. All three times we were thouroughly outplayed. We might have been the best team during the season but we came up terribly short in these games. I give Dick Vermeil great credit for this win. The Regular season game with UCLA was potentially closer than the score indicated. This was the hardest loss in my lifetime to swallow. I think it was because of the great Admiration I had for Archie Griffin. He never won a National Championship despite winning everything else. I claim no rights.
