The Silvercrest trackers were 12 Euro with 3 tracking smart tags in the box making them 4 EUR each. I paid 29.9 EUR for the Apple AirTag so that’s a big price difference but there is also a big difference in build quality and functionality on the AirTag is much better than the third party tracker from Silvercrest.

I show you how to set up and use the Lidl Silvercrest Smart Tag Finder. This is a 3-pack of Bluetooth trackers that work as an affordable alternative to similar devices. Learn how to set them up, get them connected to your phone, and see if they are right for you.

In this video, I test the key features like making the tag ring to find your phone and making the tag play a sound to find your items.

These smart tag trackers use the Apple Find My Network to find your item anywhere on the map where there is an iPhone within 10 meters range.
The find feature uses the FindMy network from Apple that helps you locate items you have lost outside of your Bluetooth range. You can replace the battery and see what everyday items these are perfect for, like finding your keys, wallet, or backpack.

These Silvercrest smart tag trackers are made to work with the Apple network and that’s a big positive point as like this there is no need to install a companion app.
They can be added in the Find My app as other trackers and it does work but they don’t have the precise nearby location that the Apple AirTag has.
They do beep when requested to so it should be fine to find them by sound when nearby.
The speaker can easily be disabled by putting some tape on the Piezo speaker terminals when opening the battery compartment.

You get about 8 months of battery life from a 3V CR2032 but if you modify them to work with AA Nimh batteries, they would last much longer than that for a car, bicycle or motorcycle.

If you use them around children, I recommend to use electrical tape and tape the smart tag closed so it’s harder to open it. The CR2032 batteries should never be eaten or worse swollen. The same is valid for the Apple AirTag.
