Описание к видео Understanding Vaccine Misinformation: A Conversation with Dr. Peter Hotez

What happens when science becomes the center of a political storm?

In this powerful and deeply personal episode of The Big Question, renowned vaccine scientist Dr. Peter Hotez joins bioethicist and Director for the Center of Life Science Insoo Hyun to discuss the rising tide of vaccine misinformation, the politicization of public health, and the real-world consequences for science, scientists, and society.

Dr. Hotez—Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and co-developer of a low-cost COVID-19 vaccine—opens up about his experiences as a public health advocate facing online harassment, media distortion, and even threats. From the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic to the broader battle for scientific truth, Dr. Hotez shares insights on how trust in science has frayed—and how we might rebuild it.
