The Fate (and Wreck) of IJN Nagato – Sent Down By Atomic Fire

Much of this video will be familiar, if you watched my previous work on the Operation Crossroads shipwrecks. Nonetheless, I feel the capital ships- at least -deserve dedicated videos.

We begin those, with the story of IJN Nagato. Or, rather, the story of her end. An already damaged and worn out ship, subjected to two atomic bomb tests. This vessel was a statement. A ship that was never going to escape being sunk by the US Navy.

Yet, in the modern day, her wreck is arguably the most intact of the major Bikini Atoll shipwrecks. There's a certain level of irony in that.
