Working on a film or video project can feel like an overwhelming task. It's common for filmmakers to have an idea of a scene in their head only to have the final shot sequence looking entirely different than they had planned.

Creating a detailed shot list will ensure that the images that you have in your mind are the images that you end up capturing in camera.

In this tutorial you'll learn how to create a shotlist by looking at a scene from an open source film called "Tears of Steel". You'll use this scene as a jumping off point to creating your own shot list.

In our next tutorial we'll dive deeper into the world of filmmaking shot lists by connecting our shot list to a camera coverage map. This allows us to link our scene's camera setups to specific shots within our shotlist.
