The World's Biggest High Speed Catamaran

The Betancuria Express has recently come into service on the Morro Jable (Fuerteventura) - Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) route. The vessel can transport 1598 passengers as well as 357 cars and travels at a speed of 70 kmph. The ferry was built by Australian shipbuilder Austal in 2011 and began service between Rønne in Denmark and Ystad in Sweden, before being sold to Fred Olsen in 2018.

The vessel was previously named the 'Leonora Christina' before being re-christened by Fred Olsen after the refit in 2018.
