Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has partnered with Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, to launch SirDavis, a groundbreaking new whisky. This collaboration reflects the shared vision between Knowles-Carter and Moët Hennessy, both leaders in their fields, to shape the future of American whisky.

The creation of SirDavis was a multi-year journey that began when Knowles-Carter, an enthusiast of Japanese whisky, approached Moët Hennessy with the idea of crafting a unique flavor profile that represented her ideal whisky. Meanwhile, Moët Hennessy was seeking opportunities to expand its footprint in the American whisky market, making this partnership a natural fit.

"I've always felt empowered and confident when enjoying a quality whisky, and I wanted to create something that invites more people to experience that," said Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, founder of SirDavis. "When I discovered my great-grandfather was a moonshine maker, it felt like my love for whisky was destined. SirDavis is a tribute to him, bringing together tradition and innovation. The whisky is named in honor of Knowles-Carter's great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who was a moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition. His story inspired Knowles-Carter to create a whisky that continues his legacy, with bottles of SirDavis now taking pride of place on the shelves of premium spirits retailers worldwide.

Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH, praised the collaboration, saying, "SirDavis is a remarkable American whisky that reflects the dedication to craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation that both LVMH and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter value deeply."

Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden, renowned for his work with Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, led the creation of SirDavis. The whisky features a unique mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, offering a rare and distinctive flavor profile. Lumsden combined traditional whisky-making methods with innovative techniques, including secondary maturation in sherry casks, to produce a whisky that balances elegance and boldness, drawing inspiration from both Japanese and Scotch whisky styles.

"With SirDavis, we wanted to push the boundaries of what American whisky can be," said Lumsden. "The unusual grain selection and secondary sherry cask maturation have created a signature profile that is sophisticated and unique."

The quality of SirDavis has already been recognized in prestigious spirits competitions. The whisky won Best In Class for American Whiskey at the 2023 SIP Awards and received high marks in other competitions, including a Gold Medal (95 points) at the New York International Spirits Competition and a 93-point rating from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter also played a pivotal role in the design of the SirDavis bottle, which features sleek, ribbed glass that captures light beautifully and highlights the whisky inside. The bottle also showcases a black medallion with a bronze horse, a nod to Knowles-Carter's Texas roots, symbolizing strength and respect.

Finished, blended, and bottled in Texas, SirDavis is Moët Hennessy's first internally developed spirits brand in the United States. It is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and will be available for pre-order at $89 on SirDavis.com, with distribution across the U.S. and select international locations starting in September 2024.

SirDavis is poised to redefine the American whisky category, appealing to both connoisseurs and new whisky enthusiasts.
