After his re-imagining of Halloween was finished and released, Rob Zombie wanted nothing to do with the series going forward. The Weinstein Brothers were hell to work with, and Zombie felt too beholden to the events of the original 1978 film. Yet, he had a deep connection to the version of the characters he created and reluctantly agreed to return for a sequel. If only to keep the ship on the correct course and make sure things didn't go off the deep end.

Hoping that he'd be granted more trust and freedom on the sequel after the success of the first was a fool's errand. With studio interference, budget cuts, and everything in between, Halloween 2 was anything but a smooth ride. So what exactly happened?
