The Ididaride is a 50 mile endurance ride and is not a race put on by the Suwannee Bicycle Association. The ride can be done on a gravel or mountain bike. I chose to ride my Ibis Exie. The ride starts at the Suwannee Bicycle Association headquarters in White Springs, FL. They do a fantastic job with this event. The last time I rode it was about 20 years ago so it was great to get back again! The trails meander through live oaks, palmettos, various scrub, and at times, along the Suwannee River. The trails aren't that difficult or technical, but the mileage can get you. As they tell you, it's an endurance ride and not a race. They have SAG stops about every ten miles with great snacks and drinks as well as lunch provided at one of the stops. The day starts off with breakfast served at the headquarters which consisted of hot oatmeal and the various toppings along with some hot coffee to compliment the 26F degree weather that morning. So much for escaping the Minnesota cold! It did warm up nicely into the low sixties and we were shedding layers after the first ten miles. Lunch was chicken and rice on the trail at a SAG stop and dinner was BBQ chicken with beans and potato salad and various beverages. If you get the chance, I would highly recommend checking out some of the SBA events and even this one. They do a great job and it's a great group of people! Unfortunately, it looks like a little bit of the coating has worn off my GoPro lens so there's a smudge visible in the footage that wouldn't wipe off. Looks like another new lens.
