Nonfilm songs of Sandhya Mukherjee in Music of Hemanta Mukherjee :

*Dear viewers, you may be amazed and even annoyed with us as we have entitled the album as 'Nonfilm Songs of Sandhya Mukherjee'. Actually, Sandhya Mukherjee sang the only basic song 'Hriday tomar bhoriye debo' (1949) in music of Hemanta Mukherjee. Here song no.1 and song no.2 in this collection are originally two poems composed by Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das. Hemanta Mukherjee tuned (along with some other poems) and made them sweet songs. All these songs are generally called 'Songs of Deshbandhu' (দেশবন্ধুর গান). Again, song no. 4 'Sarodo prabhate bimalo' is taken from the musical program ( Geeti Alekhya) of Akashbani, 'Debing Durgatiharinim' (1976). As these three songs were sung by Sandhya Mukherjee out of films (in music of Hemanta Mukherjee), they are included here as nonfilm songs, though they can't be called as 'Basic' or 'Nonfilm'. Our purpose is only to present here a collection of the songs which Sandhya Mukherjee sang (in music of Hemanta Mukherjee) out of film songs. So we beg pardon if our work seems improper or awkward.
