Mastering the Format Cells Box in Excel

In this lesson, we’ll explore one of Excel’s most powerful formatting tools—the Format Cells dialog box. While we can apply basic formatting using the Home tab, the Format Cells box unlocks additional features for precise control.

🔹 Font Formatting – Press Ctrl + 1 to open the dialog, navigate to the Font tab, and customize fonts, sizes, styles, and colors. Need brand-specific colors? Use the Custom option with HEX or RGB values.

🔹 Fill & Patterns – Apply cell background colors, explore fill effects, and use patterns for better visualization.

🔹 Alignment & Text Control – Adjust horizontal & vertical alignment, indent text, or even rotate it for better readability. Need centralized text without merging? Use Center Across Selection instead!

🔹 Borders for a Cleaner Look – While Alt + H + B + A adds default borders, the Border tab in Format Cells lets you select custom styles, colors, and thickness.
