Storm Bert hits Cornwall - South Coast UK Weather Warning

23rd November 2024. Storm Bert arrives in Cornwall.

Most of the filming is from everybody's favourite storm watching spot in Cornwall - Porthleven. Unfortunately, the high tide wasn't that high so there wasn't a real show. Then again there were some impressive big waves and the backdrop was as stunning as ever.

After Porthleven I headed westwards along the south coast to the iconic castle on an island that is St Michael's Mount. You don't get many more iconic locations than this.

The wind on the beach at Marazion felt about the strongest of the day. Could really lean into it!

I managed to get back to Penzance while the tide was still high enough to create a few splashes on the Promenade.

On a storminess scale of 1 to 10 I'd give Bert somewhere around a 5. The wind was pretty fierce at points but nothing compared to the really wild ones.
I'm not sure if Storm Bert has peaked yet, I think there will probably be another show on the high tide this evening. But I've had more than enough fresh air for the day!
