FULL FLIGHT from Mengen (EDTM) to Augsburg (EDMA). Just before a thunderstorm hit the Mengen area - a former military airfield 80 km south of Stuttgart - we took off pretty quickly with a steep left turn, away from the rapidly approaching storm clouds. During the bumpy climbout to FL95 at 6800 ft a strong wind shear tilted our horizontal attitude 20 degrees to the right (05:13). The autopilot remained engaged and corrected the bank angle immedeately. After reaching 9.500 ft (06:45) we decided to turn back again to check out the radar echoes of the "cumulonimbus" clouds and its precipitation indication. Afterwards we headed back to Augsburg as we experienced an other unexpected "autopilot disengagement event" (19:15). Quite funny because turbulence wasn't a big deal at this time. While descending we were overtaking a C172 crossing our flightpath slightly below us (22:15) ...
