AC power cords explained, testing, installation, safety | tips & methods |

This is a short demonstration and explanation of 3 wire and 2 wire AC or alternating current power cords. Examples of how to determined the hot, neutral, and earth ground terminal are given along with polarized and non-polarized 2 wire power cords. This can be all completed using a digital multimeter, ohm meter or AC voltmeter. The tutorial is well suited for the electronic / electrical technician, technologist, engineer, trades person, or home hobbyist that has no experience with AC wiring and power cords. It is extremely important to wire the AC power cord correctly to any kind of electronic, electrical, or power equipment to prevent personnel injury or injury to others.
