Описание к видео Eqbal Ahmad & 21st Century Pakistan - Aasim Sajjad & Pervez Hoodbhoy podcast special

Eqbal Ahmad, one of the most celebrated anti-imperialist thinkers of the twentieth century, died 11 May 1999. He passed away and was buried in Islamabad, having spent the last few years of his life living in Pakistan. However, he was largely unknown in the Pakistani mainstream, and remains so till this day. This is despite the fact that he was, alongside Edward Said and Noam Chomsky, the foremost public intellectuals of his time.

Eqbal was a larger-than-life figure, and his ideas and practice continue to inspire revolutionary humanists around the world today. We remember this modern day great in a special video podcast with Dr. Aasim Sajjad and Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy for a candid discussion about Eqbal's life, legacy and the potentialities of revolutionary politics in our 21st century world.
