Climbing Snowdon - Daniel Gruchy

After many failed attempts and missed dates due to the weather, we finally managed to summit Snowdon in Wales. I've been to the area a number of times before - last time to Snowdonia National Park to go white water rafting - and Snowdon is absolutely stunning.

Right. This is by no means a challenging or "big mountain". It's the tallest mountain in England and Wales at 1,085 metres but that's not saying much.

That said, we took a difficult route. As Dan, our expert guide, says at the top, we started on the Miner's Track, scrambled up Y Gribin Ridge, and joined the Watkin Path to the summit.

It was a long day, amazing weather, and definitely glad we didn't attempt it with crampons and ice axes.
