In this episode of Rebel Craft, I transform a plain wooden mask, that I purchased a thrift store, into a raw, painted object full of emotion and personal symbolism.
This isn’t purely decorative. It’s a protest against fakeness, perfection, and hiding who you are.
This video was actually filmed and edited back in 2022. It was meant to be part of a series I used to call ART DIY. But things change — and so did I. Now, a few years, one burnout, and two moves later, I’m finally finding space to pick up the pieces again.
The series has a new name: Rebel Craft, because that’s what it really is.
Not just DIY, not just crafting, but reclaiming, reusing, and transforming ordinary, forgotten stuff into raw, personal expressions.
This mask, and this video, mean more to me now than when I first made them. They remind me how healing it is to make something, even when life feels like a mess.
I still love wandering through thrift stores and flea markets, spotting weird little gems no one wants. Giving them a second life. Turning them into something honest and loud. It’s a way to create an environment that truly reflects who I am — imperfect, expressive, and unapologetically me.
So here it is. Finally. I hope this video inspires you to grab something old, forgotten, or ugly, and make it yours.
