We were seriously considering the all-new Toyota 4Runner for our next family SUV—until we saw what Toyota and their dealerships have done to it. In this video, we break down exactly how Toyota has destroyed what was once a legendary off-roader.

The interior? Cheap, hard plastics everywhere, even on trims that cost over $60,000. Want basic features like dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, or power seats? Be prepared to shell out luxury-level cash for what used to be standard or mid-tier features. And to make it worse, dealerships are already slapping massive markups on them.

The layout? A complete disaster. The new load floor design is a joke—it makes the cargo space nearly useless for anyone who actually wants to camp, overland, or haul gear. The once-functional, adventure-ready 4Runner is now more mall crawler than trail rig.

This redesign is a massive letdown, and after taking a serious look, we’ve decided not to buy one for my wife. Toyota really missed the mark, and it’s time people start calling it out.
