Now you see a folk tale, that is told commonly in Kerala; ‘The Monkey who got a drum.’ Long ago, a wicked Monkey lived in a forest, One day during his daily acrobatics monkey fell down from a tall tree and broke his tail. Everyone in the forest thought he deserved that. The wounded monkey became more arrogant he went in search of the local doctor. The doctor found monkey's tale is useless and he cut it away within no time. Monkey didn't like it, he cried and threatened the doctor. He wanted the surgical knife otherwise he wanted his tale back. The doctor could not tolerate the monkey’s hue and cry and gave the knife to him. The Monkey went when he got the knife.

On his way, he met a boy who was trying to throw down a bunch of mangoes from the mango tree. The monkey offered his knife so generously. The boy took the knife and the mango fell but the knife stayed on the top. Monkey showed his true color. Give my knife back or else I will took the mangoes. Like this the story went on. Watch it

This is a story about a great fool who tried to trick the monkeys. This story is from the state of Assam.

Long long ago, a poor farmer lived in a village in Assam. One day he felt so hot an decided to went to the river and took a bath. On the way could catch some crabs too I would get enough money if I sell them in the market. But he was able to catch only a few crabs till he tried to the afternoon. The man felt very moody. He sat under a tree and felt asleep. That particular tree was the home for a pack of monkeys. They were watching the man and his efforts. The felt empathy for him and decided to catch enough crabs to fill his basket. Within no time the monkey's filled the basket. Then they came near to wake him up. The man was deep asleep. The monkeys concluded that the man was dead. They thought it's better to take his body to the village. The monkeys carried him to the village border and left. The man wake up after some time with a basket full of crabs. He thought that must be a blessing from the village deity. The story became famous in the village. The next day one greedy neghbour knocked the villager's door. He wished to get the blessings too. What happened next? Watch the story
