This is an simple recipe for flavorful meat filled black eye peas for your new years day meal
Recipe
1# dry peas(soaked 1 hour or over night)
1 cup chopped onions
1# salted or smoked pork jowls chopped
1# pig tails (optional)
1# pork neck bones (optional)
2 quarts water

Add meat garlic, and onions to pot and cover with water
Simmer until tender (about 2 hours)
Add peas and cook until tender and season with salt and pepper
Enjoy with hot sauce and chow chow
