This video explains how to remove the axles as well as replace the axle bearings and seals on a Ford 8.8 rear. A couple things that I forgot to mention:

1. When re-installing the differential cover, be sure to use a star pattern when torquing down the bolts.

2. When prying out the seal, try to avoid scraping the removal tool against the axle housing. Try to anchor the end of the tool on the steel lip on the inside of the seal. This will avoid extra work cleaning up any gouges as well as avoid potential future leaks.
