Transformers Devastation - Bumblebee Vs Decepticon Elite (Prime Difficulty) Challenge Room 18

Transformers Devastation: Challenge Room 18 - Beat the Decepticon Elite. Soundwave, all his cassettes and Blitzwing together. Once you've beaten one of them Shockwave appears followed by Starscream once you've beaten the other.

Sweet Christmas, this was tough on Prime difficulty. I thought I could get some quick video capture of me completing this level on Prime when I got home from work on Friday - I was still trying to do it 7 hours later. When you've been trying to complete something incredibly hard in a game and still not done it after a few hours, you reach a point where it's like 'I HAVE to do this now' or else I've wasted all this time playing it for nothing...When it got to 2am I eventually conceded defeat and decided, thoroughly dejected, It was just never going to happen and as a compromise I decided to settle for some video of me beating the Challenge Room on Magnus instead (the next difficulty level down - still tough, but not as ridiculously tough).

Next morning though I thought 'Fuck that!' about compromising and a little OCD voice in my head compelled me to give it another shot. Fortunately, the cyber Gods were with me this time and I managed to crack it after an hour. Phew. Only got an A rank and not an S or SS though. Grrrrr....

It's weird, because I don't recall Soundwave being a particularly tricky boss when I played through the main game, but combined with Blitzing here in the Challenge room he was one tough hombre. His attacks that make the floor move around and bits of it rise up and drop down (which I think is also the work of Rumble and Frenzy) combined with the move that blasts you across the screen and the fact he seems to hover a lot (whilst blasting you with heat seeking missiles and some kind of audio attack) make it difficult to actually get at him a lot of the time. He seems to hoover a lot just when I'm trying to rush attack him. He's also fast and good at breaking your combos. Just to make things that bit trickier you've also got to contend with the strafing runs from Laserbeak and Buzzsaw, who are oddly hard to shoot down, as the auto aim seems to always go for the bigger targets

All the while you're trying to do this you've got to constantly watch your back for Blitzwing, who moves with a speed that belies his heavy/tank appearance and he will decimate your lifebar in one hit if you're not careful. Shockwave and Starscream are both tough as well, but thankfully they're not quite such a difficult combination, and fortunately here I managed to pretty much take out Soundwave and Blitzwing at the same time. There's a particular Shockwave laser attack, which despite being able to see him about to unleash from a mile off, seems to always hit me when I'm trying to dodge it and likewise will just utterly destroy your lifebar.
